6 Tips for Packing Electronics

1.Use the Manual

Most manual will have advice on how to pack electronics and avoid damages in transit, including pictures of what to protect.

2.Use the Original Box

Where possible, use the original boxes and add bubble wrap or other packing material.

3.Back up your Hard drive

All-important files on your laptop and/or desk top make sure they are saved and backed. Nowadays you can back them up on the cloud and access them from anywhere.

4.Organise your cords

To avoid tangling wires and trying to figure out which device they belong to, label your cords and neatly wrap them as you remove them on each electronic device. Where possible keep the code and remote control in the same box with the electronic device.

Movers Tip: Use your phone to take picture how the cords were connected to the device for easy assembly.

5.Essential Packing Material

You will need

  • Sturdy boxes
  • Duct tape
  • Fragile labels
  • Packing Material such as bubble wrap which is anti-static
  • Moving Blankets to minimize scratches.

Movers Tips: Use old newspapers and/or newsprint to fill up empty spaces in the boxes.

6.  Keep in mind the Temperature

You need to consider the storage and packing for electronic when in transit because they are sensitive to extreme temperatures.   Check recommend temperatures from the manufacturer Manual.
